Rep. Chris Corry pushes back on local even-year elections proposal

During debate on the House Floor Thursday, Feb. 8, Rep. Chris Corry, R-Yakima, urges a no vote on House Bill 1932 which would give local jurisdictions the option to switch from odd to even-year elections. Corry listed a series of warnings from the Washington Secretary of State about the potential negative impact the bill would likely have on local issues, voter participation, and more before the final vote. The bill passed the House 52-45.
