Reps. Mosbrucker and Corry to hold ‘Town Hall by Telephone’ Feb. 12

Fourteenth District Reps. Gina Mosbrucker and Chris Corry want to hear from you. The two lawmakers, who are in Olympia for the 2019 legislative session, are holding a town hall meeting over the telephone.

“Very soon, we'll be voting on important bills that have the potential of affecting people throughout the state of Washington, including the 14th District. We want to hear what's on people's minds and about those issues that concern them,” said Mosbrucker, R-Goldendale.

“Telephone town hall events are important for a couple of reasons. First, it's a great way to communicate with people about what we're working on for them at the state Capitol,” said Corry, R-Yakima. “It also connects residents of the 14th District to public policy being debated and discussed in Olympia.”

The telephone town hall meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. To participate, citizens may call during that date/time to: (509) 404-3052.

The event is much like a radio call-in program. Callers who have a question will press the STAR * key on their telephone keypads. As their turn comes up, callers will be “live” and can ask their question of Reps. Mosbrucker and Corry.

“While this doesn't replace a traditional in-district town hall, it does provide a convenient way for people to participate from the comfort of their own homes,” noted Mosbrucker. “Plus, it gives us a way to reach out to citizens while we're in Olympia.”

“Quite frankly, engaging in this type of conversation gives us the opportunity to listen and respond to the concerns of our communities,” added Corry.
