Rep. Corry joins KVI’s Phil Vandervort to discuss Democrats shutting down Republicans during debate on Parents’ Rights legislation
Rep. Chris Corry joins KVI Radio’s Phil Vandervort during “The Morning Ride” show to discuss how House Democrats implemented a controversial new rule recently to shut down Republicans during debate on Parents’ Rights legislation (Senate Bill 5181). For over a century, it took a two-thirds vote from representatives to shut down debate and immediately vote on the legislation in question. The new scheme only takes a simple majority to silence the minority. Corry says this sets a dangerous precedent and is an unnecessary and unfair effort to silence the voices of the minority party, which still represents over 3 million voters statewide.
