Rep. Corry stands up for parental notification if their child is removed from school for any reason.
During debate on SSB 5181, which guts the Parents’ Rights Initiative that passed in 2024, he gives a floor speech in support of parental notification. His amendment to the bill would specifically require parents to be IMMEDIATELY notified if law enforcement or the Department of Social and Health Services removes their child from school. Corry is a strong believer that the state of Washington does NOT own our kids. He believes that the Democrat effort to change an initiative signed by nearly 500,000 citizens is a slap in the face to voters, parents and students across the state.
